Leonardo's "downunder" tour

DOWNUNDER!After watching all his beautiful beer make the journey Leonardo thought enough is enough! It’s my turn. So he’s packing his bag and heading “down under” to Oz for a 9 day whirlwind tour of Sydney and Perth. For all of you who have been enjoying the Birra del Borgo beers , your enthusiasm will be increased 10 fold when you meet the man himself and hear him talk about the beers: his passion and his life.
We’ve got a series of events ranging from casual meet the Brewer events to more formal degustation dinners, so there’s something for all of you whether you are a self confessed beer geek or just a lover of all things Italian
Events:
Sunday 17th February: Rootstock Festival Leichhardt Sustainable Wine and Food festival. 10am-5pm We’ll have a big presence here with Leonardo taking on the best of the wine boys in the wine tasting area, he’ll be giving masterclasses and we’ll also have a tent outside in the food area where you can buy some awesome Italian craft beer to consume whilst you listen to the music and taste the best of the street style food stalls
Monday 18th February: Meet the Brewer The Local Taphouse Sydney. Come on in from 7pm and we’ll have the Louvre set up for a casual meet and greet with Leonardo. We’ll have Birra del Borgo and other Italian beers on tap and available in bottles so grab a glass and come and have a chat with the man himself
Tuesday 19th February: Italian Showcase degustation dinner at Pilu Freshwater. Culinary legends Giovanni Pilu and Alessandro Pavoni come together to prepare a feast of 6 courses matched perfectly with a Birra del Borgo beer. From the amazing raspberry Rubus to start to the sweet malty tones of the Keto Reporter to finish each beer will be beautifully matched with food to complement. Leonardo will present each beer, talk about the inspiration and the flavour and passion behind each beer. Places are limited so call Pilu on 99383331 to book
From Sydney we head off across the Nullarbor to Perth
Wednesday 20th February: Dinner degustation with Vincenzo and his team at Galileo Buona Cucina. Another great Italian chef matching his dishes perfectly to complement the best of the 6 beers presented by Leonardo.

Thursday 21st February: A Bizarre Night with Birra del Borgo at the Freo Doctor. We’ve got 6 great beers for tasting including the rare and very unique bizarro beers including the Etrusca ancient ale, Reale in Kilt made with scottish yeast and peated malts and many more. These beers will taste all the more special as the man himself talks about the inspiration and the methods behind each amazing beer. Friday 22nd February: Meet the Brewer dinner at Sail and Anchor 7pm. 5 great beers matched with some awesome mouth-watering dishes
For those who can’t make the Sail and Anchor event there’s a sneaky aperitivo at The Quarie bar from 5pm
